2023 Annual Solon Fire Department Breakfast

The city’s firefighters hosted this year’s Annual Pancake Breakfast at their new firehouse on Sunday, May 28th.

It’s been open since December, and this was the fire department’s first big event to be hosted there.

All of the money that was raised from the breakfast events over the last few years went towards building the new firehouse; this year’s pancake breakfast celebrated all of that progress.

Iowa’s News Now spoke with Solon firefighter Greg Morris, to talk about the city’s new firehouse.

“I would just like to thank everybody from far and wide who helped make this building a reality,” said Morris. “In my mind, in the mind of our members, in the minds of a lot of our community members, this is a big deal. This is a dream come true and it is an awesome place to be.”
